Science club is now seeking new spring-semester members.

The club is open to all current Northwestern students, whether they consider themselves a pro gamer or just simply want to hang out and make new friends.

The club meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays in Shockley Hall Room 125.

“The Computer Science Club usually meets to have fun and game together,” said President Evan Vaverka. “We are a group that gathers to play ‘League of Legends’ as well as others that are trying to group together for raids in ‘World of Warcraft.’”

Northwestern has been officially approved to join the “League of Legends” College Championship Series.

New members will have a chance to win key chains, wristbands and club T-shirts.  The first LAN party will be at end of February.  For more information, visit the “NWOSU League of Legends” Facebook group.

Club members will be eligible to join the Heartland Gaming Expo. That competition will take place April 10-12 at the Tulsa Convention Center.  “The Club gets together to help with the BEST robotics competition. It also helps sponsor those with the game programming class to make the trip for Heartland Gaming Expo,” said Vaverka.

Last year, the club represented won a third place People’s Choice Award but is seeking fresh blood to join the team and make it even better this year.
