The Northwestern Financial Aid Office is accepting applicants to receive $1,000 scholarship for the spring semester including an all-inclusive leadership trip to Oklahoma City.

According to the Northwestern Financial Aid Office, the Northwestern Scholarship Committee will select one applicant to receive the $1,000 scholarship and attend the 18th Annual George and Donna Nigh Leadership Scholarship Academy, held in Oklahoma City, OK on February 19-23, 2016.

The academy will pay for all lodging, meals, and local ground transportation on the trip.  The selected applicant must addend all activities for the academy or the applicant forfeits the scholarship.

Students in the past that have received this scholarship have had the opportunity to visit with different leadership representatives from around the state, including a visit to the capital building.

“It is a great opportunity for a student to enhance their leadership qualities and to network with other university students and business men and women across the state,” said Rita Castleberry, Director of Financial aid and scholarships at Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

All applicants for the George and Donna Nigh Leadership Scholarship need to be a Northwestern Oklahoma State University student. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership qualities and high academic achievement. Applicants for this scholarship must also be a graduate from high school or home school with-in the state of Oklahoma.

Applications for the George and Donna Neigh Leadership Scholarship are currently available in the Financial Aid Office located in Herod Hall room 113.  All applications are due by November 13, 2015 by 5:00pm.
