I can’t. I have practice.

If you have a friend that is an athlete you might hear these words a little too often because they are always busy with either practice or they have a ton of homework from being gone for an event.

I play golf at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and believe me I have said these words a million times. Being a college athlete is the equivalent to having a full time job; therefore, you have no time to do anything. Even if you have spare time you are doing homework because as an athlete you are expected to have good grades.

There are many times when I am rushing from golf to something else because I am so busy. I am up late hours of the night working on homework for my classes to maintain my high grade point average, and then in the morning I am exhausted. Another thing about being a college athlete is the fact that I miss class all the time. I miss at least five Mondays and Tuesdays out of semester, but I try my best to get my homework in on time. Most of the time I am successful.

Not only do I play golf, but I also work for the Northwestern News as the sports editor. Since I am apart of both of these things, I don’t have the time for a full-time job. I barley have time to design my pages for the newspaper.
Even though my days are very busy, I still enjoy both of my jobs. I love to play golf, and I’m happy I decided to be a college athlete. I also enjoy designing pages. It takes a long time to do, but in the end I find it as a stress reliever.
