Club members in the NWOSU Art Society (NAS) at Northwestern Oklahoma State University recently completed a Northwestern-themed, painted pallet for Calleb Mosburg, dean of student affairs and enrollment management, and has plans to create more.

Mosburg solicited NAS members to show off their creativity on a blank pallet in exchange for a donation to the club.

“[Mosburg] came to us and asked us if we would like to do a project, and we said ‘okay, what project?’” Amanda Metcalf, sophomore music-instrumental major from Enid and NAS president, said. “He said he had a pallet and wanted some sort of Northwestern design on it to display.”

After gaining the necessary approval for the design, Amanda and Megan Metcalf, sophomore psychology major from Enid and NAS vice president, painted the Northwestern design on the pallet.

The decorated pallet now hangs in Mosburg’s office. His donation and others like it help NAS fund the spring art show and future workshops. NAS members are looking to create another pallet to show during their goodie giveaways at home basketball games.

NAS is open to creating more pieces, in exchange for a donation, if a pallet is supplied. The design will be the same on each piece produced although the color placement may vary.

Group members would be happy to take orders for these unique decorations; however, work schedules will vary while producing these pieces because of school commitments. Contact club sponsor Angelia Case with questions at arcase@nwosu.edu or (580) 327-8577.

NAS meetings take place on Tuesdays at 6:23 p.m. in the Jesse Dunn Annex, room 327. For more information on club activities, contact Case.
