A story in the Sept. 17 issue regarding a fight at Coronado Hall contained incorrect information.
One of the students involved in the altercation was incorrectly reported as being suspended from the university and removed from the dorms. That student was removed from the dorms but voluntarily withdrew from the university, said Steven Valencia, associate vice president for university relations. He noted that no other disciplinary action was taken in this case.
“Any time there is an incident that involves violence, we are concerned for the safety of our students, and we will take whatever action we deem appropriate,” said Valencia.
Incidents such as this one are turned over to Calleb Mosburg, dean of student affairs, who handles disciplinary issues.
