Newlyweds Riley and Josh Faulkner will be singing the first combined Senior Performance recital at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on September 12 in FA200.

As a requirement to fulfill their Bachelors in music education, Riley and Josh Faulkner have gained special permission from the university to combine their recital knowing that they would be married at the time of their recital.  Of course, they will each have their individual moments in the spotlight during the recital, but they also have some duets planned for their audience to enjoy.

“We are both very excited and we have worked extremely hard for this.  We are excited to see our work come full circle, and we can’t wait to share our love of music with our guests.” said Riley and Josh Faulkner, seniors majoring in Music Education.

Mr. and Mrs. Faulkner plan to entertain a variety of guests at their recital with a range of music from Opera to Musical Theatre along with covering a range of languages from Italian, French, German and English.

“This recital marks the culmination of their vocal study here at Northwestern.  The audience will hear an eclectic repertoire including a variety of musical styles,” said Mrs. Lawana Newell, Instructor of Music.

Attendance for this monumental recital is open to all who are interested in witnessing a milestone moment for two of Northwestern’s seniors, along with enjoying all the hard work of Northwestern’s newlyweds.

“Riley and Josh have been studying singing the entire time they have been students here at NWOSU. Their recital will be the milestone that shows all they have accomplished.  They are both extremely talented and are prepared to have an amazing recital. I know all of the students in the Fine Arts are planning to attend and all are welcome.” said Mr. Karsten Longhurst, Director of Choral Studies.
