It’s the chance of a life time, an opportunity to experience something never before experienced, a chance to build a new life. At least that’s what passengers Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) and Aurora Lane (Jennifer Lawrence) think when boarding the starship Avalon.
The ship was designed to travel for one hundred and twenty years while its inhabitance sleep in hibernation pods which were designed to keep its occupants from aging while they slept away the one hundred and twenty years.
However, something goes terribly wrong and causes Jim Preston to wake up ninety years too early. Unable to wake up a crew member who might be able to help him, Jim decides to make the most of his time on the ship, but after a year of being the only soul on the ship awake,
Jim must make a decision. He must decide if he wants to spend any more years on the ship alone and if not he has two options. Jim could jump into space without a suit on and let his body die, or he could wake someone up, someone he’s had his eye on, Aurora.
Jim struggles with his decision knowing that if he decides to wake Aurora up he will be taking away her chance at a new life on a different planet and condemning her to dying on the ship without ever reaching their destination.
Find out what happens by watching Passengers, a well-produced movie with an interesting story line, and a plot twist you won’t see coming. Passengers is a story of one of humanities greatest flaws: our inability to survive alone, and tells a story of how far one man will be willing to go so as not to experience the loneliness for any longer. The main character will also have to decide how far he is willing to go for love and for the people who stay blissfully asleep.
