The annual Northwestern Ranger Rally for the Alva campus will be Sept. 11.

It will begin at 8 p.m. Students can treat themselves to games that offer prizes.  The first 250 students who show will receive free hot dogs and free T-Shirts.

Students will be treated to live performances from the Ranger Band and the NWOSU Cheerleaders. The event will close with speeches from the football coaches.

Student Government Association President Tatum Hansen says, “The Ranger Rally is the first of many SGA events that students should attend.  This is the first event that really promotes our football team and it encourages school spirit. All new students need to attend the Ranger Rally because it is our chance to welcome them to the Ranger family.”

Hansen said, “My favorite part of the Ranger Rally is the bonfire at the end where all the football coaches and the football team give incredible speeches about the upcoming season”.

University President Janet Cunningham said, “It is an evening filled great games and fun.  I am always excited to see students who participate in these great school events.”  She said she “absolutely” would be attending.

Dean of Student Affairs Calleb Mosburg said he all students to participate in the Ranger Rally. “The Ranger Rally is the first of many athletic activities, but when you’re in that athletic arena you get this great feeling of family and support that just surrounds you. I just really enjoy seeing all the students that participate and it’s really great to see the amount of support that’s shared between them. Students should attend so that they can be part of a great Northwestern tradition that welcomes all students to be a part of this great family.”

Assistant Professor of Psychology Karen Linstrum said, “My favorite part of the Ranger Rally is to see all the students, athletes, and coaches take pride in being a Ranger. I really like to hear the coaches speak because it gets everyone revved up about the season.”
