NWOSU rodeo team men’s and women’s are off to a good start this season, and are ready to keep it going.
From last season, NWOSU now has two national champions on the roster. This brings in NWOSU’s second and third national championship.
National champion Bridger Anderson, a steer wrestler, was able to to knock four steers in 191 seconds securing his spot for the national title. This season Anderson is first in the Central Plain Region and already has a total of 440 points this season, putting him ahead of the second place cowboy by a total of 260 points.
Taylor Munsell, a barrel racer and breakaway, has finished with a four run cumulative time. She also gave credit to her horse, a 13 year bay fielding, praising him for being smart and trust worthy. This years rodeo team is prepared to have a strong year.
“This year’s rodeo team is very strong in every event we compete in. It should be a very good year for NWOSU.” Callie McGhee, a break away and barrel racer said.
Rodeo coming off an unbelievable season last year and two of them bringing in two national titles should have you fired up for the season.
For the next up and coming rodeo, the team will be in Alva, and will be competing Oct. 31- Nov. 2. After that, they will compete at Kansas State University Feb. 14-16 which should be interesting considering that K-state is a Division 1 university, and the Rangers should have some great competition going in to that.
