The Northwestern Oklahoma State University track and field teams traveled this weekend for ther first outdoor meet of the season. Men’s Track opened the season in San Marcos, Texas. The meet hosted by Texas State University, is the Rangers first meet since 1996.
Junior Ben Morfin led the 1500-Meter placing first with a time of 4:06.90.
The freshman Trevor Montayne earned the Co-Track GAC Athlete of the week.
Montayne ran on two relays that set school records. The 400-meter relay time of 42.08 seconds. The 1600-meter time of 3:22.26. Individually, he ran a 10.84 in the 100 and a 21.35 in the 200. He ranks second in the GAC in the 200 with the fifth-fastest time amongst freshmen.
Next meet will be at Emporia State University on Thursday.

Javelin Throw - Connor Miers, 22.53m
The Lady Rangers traveled all the way to Arkansas City, Kansas They competed at the Mark Phillips Tiger Open hosted by Cowley College.
They won first place in two events. The 4×400 meter relay competed by Tavonyia Lacy, Diamond Hilton, Brianna Brantley, and Renaja Engermann, they set a time of 4:18.32.
The 4×800 meter relay was ran in 11:08.89 by Cadence Long-Torres, Asia Williams, Harley Woody and Jasmin Garcia.
The Lady Ranger’s next meet will be this weekend at Oklahoma Baptist University.
