Bailey Trammell is a Northwestern alum. She returned back to Alva to become a new professor in the psychology department.

In 2012 she transferred from The University of Central Oklahoma. Then, graduated from NWOSU in 2015 with a bachelor’s in health and sports science and in 2017 with a master’s in counseling.

In 2015 Trammell served as a Title 3 academic adviser at NWOSU, then became director of student success in counseling. In 2018 she resigned, as she felt Alva was too small, she said. She then went into private practice as a therapist.

She then got a job at Redlands Community College for three years. When Trammell came back to NWOSU with her little sister for a transfer day. When she drove into Alva she fell back at home and knew she wanted to come back to NWOSU.

Q: Who has been one of your biggest role models?

A: My mom has been one of my biggest role models, she was a single mom for a long amount of time. She and my stepdad then raided me. I have seen my mom overcome adversity. She always assured me that I had all of the opportunities. I am a first-generation college student do she really worked to help me in any way.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: My significant other and I love national parks. We love hiking and being outside. We have motorcycles that we love to take out. I also have a 2-year-old son.We love to take him and do fun things with him.

Also, we have three dogs, and we love to be with them.

Q: What is the scariest thing you have ever done?

A: Not being able to swim, we took a boat out in the middle of the ocean on a vacation. I am horrified of sharks, but I jumped in I overcame it and ended up snorkling and having a great time.
Q: If you could have a power, what would it be?

A: As a therapist, it would be to read people’s minds. Not to be noisy, but to fully understand a person.

That is my goal.
