In today’s world, there are a few video game systems and many video games, but one video game that I really enjoy is NCAA Football 2005 on the PlayStation 2.

You are probably thinking, “Why that game and why in the world a PlayStation 2?”

Well, I’ll tell you why. The NCAA Football video games were discontinued in 2014, and that prevents us gamers to be able to play as our favorite college team. The NCAA Football video games are not just on PlayStation 2; they are also on the game systems PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Now, you could say, “Well, you can play as a college football team in the Madden NFL 20 and Madden NFL 21 video games.”

While that is true, it is not the same. In Madden, you only get to play four games and your opponents are randomly chosen for you.

What I like about NCAA Football 2005 is you can use formations on offense, such as the Wishbone, Maryland I, the Flexbone, Split Bone, Power I and the Split Backs. I like playing with these formations because they have a lot of misdirection and involve option plays.

You don’t see these formations in today’s Madden video games, aside from the Power I. I like that you can play as a school in “Dynasty Mode” which is where you can pick who you play against on your schedule, recruit and discipline players if needed, while getting to play as many seasons as you want.

Another good feature is that you can create a school on the game. I created one called the Northwestern Rangers. I get to choose the logo and uniforms.

Another good feature about “Dynasty Mode” is that you get to create a coach for your team. With my own created team, Coach Matt Walter is the Head Coach. I even made the character look like him.

Also, what I love about “Dynasty Mode” is that you get feedback from the school after a game in “Coach’s Options.”

After you defeat a very high ranked opponent, you can see the news article covering it on the “Dynasty Mode” main menu.

Another good feature about “Dynasty Mode” is that you can see where your team is ranked by looking at “Game Information” on your season schedule, whether your team is in the Top 25 or not.

Overall, NCAA Football 2005 is a good game to play, especially if you miss the NCAA Football video games being made every year like before. If you love those interesting and fun formations that I talked about, then you will especially love NCAA Football 2005.
