The NWOSU Esports Team is hosting their second summer camp for high schools.

The camp is sponsored by the Northwestern Computer Science program and Esports team and is funded by the Buckles and Tucker Endowments. The camp is open to all high school students entering grades 9-12 in the fall and will be from June 3-5th. The camp will have individual practice and a tournament plan which will be led by the NWOSU Esports Team.

Students can register for individual days or all three days of the camp. Lunch will be provided for the students and if staying all three days they can stay in the dorms. The camp costs $25 a day, $75 a day without staying in the dorms or $100 if staying in the dorms. The cost will be for lunch and a T-shirt.

The deadline for high school students to apply is April 15.

Each day the campers will be able to play and learn more about a different game. The first day, June 3, the game will be “Overwatch 2.” The second day will be “Rocket League,” and the third day will be “Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.”

Esports is basically competitive video games. The Northwestern team competes in games like “Call of Duty,” “League of Legends,” “Valorant”, and more. Including, of course, the three they will be playing during the camp.

Esports also offer scholarships. If you are interested in learning more about NWOSU Esports you can contact Evan Vaverka at esports@nwosu.edu or epvaverka@nwosu.edu.
