For one weekend, the small town of Alva had big plans.
For the 22nd year, the Big Cruise and Car Show turned downtown Alva into a speedway, as cars raced, cruised and even perfromed burnouts.
The cruise was not the only show in town, as others traveled to Alva for a different reason, to spend time with family.
On Saturday, Alva had two different sides. On campus, students spent time with family as they attended the family day luncheon. While the other side of town did not listen to conversation, but the revving of engines and the screeching of tires.
As the sun set in the Oklahoma sky, the entire town remained lit, as cars cruised up and down Oklahoma Boulevard.
The scoreboard at Ranger Field was lit up as well, with Northwestern and Southern Nazarene battling in a shootout that eventually ended with the Crimson Storm defeating the Rangers, 42-29.
By Sunday afternoon, the cars had left and several families parted ways.
After a weekend of fun, Alva became a small town once again.
